Exhibition Preface

The Link·Northeast Contemporary Art Youth Creation Plan, co-planned by the Department of Contemporary Art of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and Shenyang M56 Art Museum, focuses on linking creative thinking with implicit issues of the intelligent era; interdisciplinary and cross-field connections in creative approaches; linkages between Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and other technology/art-related enterprises and institutions; as well as internal connections within the Northeast region and its links with other art hub cities. During the collection and selection of works, we have witnessed increasingly diverse integration of creative media and application of mixed technologies. A growing number of works by young artists who think from an international perspective address issues of the present era, focusing on the now rather than the past. Meanwhile, we have taken the core thinking patterns in contemporary art and experimental practices that break the boundaries of disciplinary ontology as the foundation for this selection.
