Post-Flemish Culture (Dalian) and Shenyang M56 Art Museum have launched a project collaboration, with the exhibition European Landscapes serving as the first initiative of this partnership. This exhibition marks the first presentation of European Landscapes in Shenyang following its debut at Dalian City Art Museum. Curated by Post-Flemish Art Space in collaboration with guest project curators, European Landscapes is divided into four thematic units: Natural Scenery, Urban Landscape, Social Scape, and Absurdist Landscape. Executive curators for each unit have provided interpretations of the themes and artist works, highlighting diverse perspectives. Most participating artists have lived in Europe, and their works—predominantly composed of video installations, photography, and performance art recordings—reflect their unique understandings of contemporary "landscapes" through personal experiences, cultural observations, and ideological reflections on their living environments.Based on a curator invitation system, the exhibition aims to establish a bridge between audiences and artists through curatorial narratives, delivering context-driven descriptions of "landscapes" in an objective manner. It seeks to enrich viewers’ perceptions of "landscapes" across multiple dimensions and cultural contexts. This project represents a pioneering collaboration between Post-Flemish Culture and international art institutions/galleries. We are honored to feature works from Shangfeng Gallery (France), LA CASA AMARILLA Gallery (Spain), and their affiliated artists, showcasing a fusion of European and Chinese artistic expressions. We extend gratitude to Shenyang M56 Art Museum for its support and the curatorial team for their dedication, which has enabled this touring exhibition to materialize. The success of this project paves the way for future transnational and cross-regional artistic collaborations, promising new possibilities for global cultural exchange.
