To carry forward excellent traditional Chinese culture, strengthen national cultural confidence, welcome the 9th National Seal Carving Art Exhibition to Liaoning, prepare for the exhibition, discover new seal carving talents, cultivate professionals, polish fine works, and promote Liaoning's seal carving art to new heights, the "3rd Liaoning Provincial Seal Carving Art Exhibition" was hosted by the Liaoning Provincial Calligraphers Association, organized by the Seal Carving Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Calligraphers Association, Dalian Calligraphers Association, and Rongbaozhai (Shenyang) Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Dalian Seal Art Society, M56 Art Museum, and Dalian Younuo Health Food Co., Ltd. The exhibition opened on the 40th floor of M56 Art Museum. Submissions & Jury: The exhibition inspired strong creative enthusiasm among seal carving artists and enthusiasts in Liaoning, receiving 307 entries from cities and counties across the province. The jury committee was chaired by Wang Dan, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, with Hu Chongwei, Li Lin, Gan Haimin, and Leng Xu as vice chairmen, and Zhao Lixin as secretary-general. Thirteen renowned seal carvers conducted strict evaluations through three rounds (preliminary review, re-evaluation, and final review), selecting 10 award-winning works, 16 nominated works, and 202 exhibited works. Artistic Features: New and veteran artists competed together, inheriting the art of seal carving. Rooted in tradition and inspired by the Qin and Han dynasties, their works showed bold exploration and innovation, featuring diverse styles such as Han Dynasty seals, ancient seals, freehand brushwork, and precise steady engraving. The works combined traditional charm with distinct contemporary features, demonstrating the deep cultural heritage and forward-looking creative awareness of Liaoning's seal carvers. As an important part of Chinese culture, Chinese seal carving has gained increasing attention with the enhancement of national cultural confidence. It is hoped that Liaoning's seal carving artists will, taking this exhibition as an opportunity, explore creative laws, integrate contemporary life with art, and jointly write a new chapter of the era with lofty aspirations and dedicated craftsmanship.
